For starters, I noticed that Astrenk.shop has 4 items on the home page and most are selling at low prices. For instance, the 4K Smart Wifi Android TV is $29.99, apparently down from $1,199. However, this is just a deception by scammers to get you interested. Chances are, you may never get the product delivered and even if you do, it will be a cheap counterfeit. As they say, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.
The Changing Domain Name
I also noticed that when you click on most of the pages on the webshop, the domain name seems to change from Astrenk.shop to Piayun.shop. This raises suspicion that Astrenk is likely a scam; why would a legit shop keep redirecting its customers? This makes it harder to track them and make them own up should anything go amiss.
No Phone Number or Social Media Buttons
I could not find any social media handles which raised eyebrows as many web shops turn to social media to market their stores. Plus, I could not find any phone number or location listed anywhere on the website. This makes it hard to know where the webshop is based and how to reach out should they not respond through email.
Customer Reviews
According to the information I found on Whois.com, the domain was registered in December 2022. The site is new and it may be the reason why I could not find a lot of customer reviews. The only review I found was on ScamAdviser and it was negative without sharing more information.
I could not find any other reviews on popular review sites such as Trustpilot or Sitejabber. Interestingly though, I found some products on Astrenk.shop had perfect reviews. For instance, the “Board Game Touchscreen Table - Includes over 50 Games w/ WIFI Downloadable Apps” has 3- 5 star reviews. However, there is no way of verifying the authenticity of the reviews.
They also include people who supposedly found the reviews helpful which is also hard to verify.
Bottom Line
Overall, there are enough red flags to suggest that Astrenk.shop is likely a scam. The prices are ridiculously low which is always a major red flag, the domain changes automatically and there are no positive reviews outside the website. There is also suspicion of review manipulation as there is no way of verifying the customer reviews I found on the site.
Customers should be cautious when shopping here as the site exhibits signs of a scam. There are more reliable online marketplaces where customers can shop.
