Denimcarts.com is an online shop that has been getting much attention on ScamAdviser. Being one of the most-searched sites, it ignited our curiosity and prompted us to write this review.
Denimcarts.com sells many products from Saree to Lehenga, dresses, and more. However, are they legit or a well-disguised scam? Let’s find out, shall we?
Free Email Address
One of the first things that caught my eye was the email address on the website. They claim that customers can reach them through denimcarts@gmail.com. Clearly, this is a free Gmail account that can be opened by anyone.
It has become common practice for scammers to list such emails as it makes it harder for customers to reach out. In most cases, if you reach out, you are less likely to hear back.
What customers say about Denimcarts.com
Though the site was registered in May 2022 according to Whois.com, I struggled to find many customer reviews. On Trustpilot, the site has attracted two reviews with one customer doubting the legitimacy of the website.
On ScamAdviser, there are several reviews, mostly negative, with one customer complaining that they were not provided with tracking information or confirmation mail. Plus, they claim that efforts to reach out to customer support were futile.
Another customer is also raising concerns that they never got any deliveries for items bought.
Did they copy words from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz?
Literature has a profound place in society but you don’t expect to see words from famous books on online shopping sites. To my surprise, I found a phrase in their “About Us” section that is lifted word-for-word from the famous book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
They claim, under Services, “It was a big, round room with a high arched roof, and the walls and ceiling and floor were covered with large emeralds set closely together.”
This is a passage in Chapter 11 of “The Wonderful City of Oz” which makes us doubt the legitimacy of Denimcarts.com. Additionally, the same passage appears on many more dubious pages as seen on Google result pages.
Other Telltale Signs
I also found other signs that raise eyebrows and cast doubt on Denimcarts.com. Here are some of them:
- Cheap prices with most products quoted at ₹95.00 ($1.16) which is way below the market rates.
- They have included dummy social media buttons to dupe customers into believing they have a social media presence.
- I could not find their business listed in the location they claim to be in.
Bottom Line
Overall, there is a high possibility that Denimcarts.com may be a scam. There are many red flags that are hard to ignore. They seem to copy a phrase from the book “The Wonderful City of Oz” which is also used by many dubious websites.
The prices offered are ridiculously low which is never a good sign while their social media buttons are dummies as Denimcarts does have any profiles. The customer reviews are mostly negative with customers complaining of never getting their deliveries. They have listed a free Gmail address for support which does not help boost the already fragile customer confidence.
Caution should be exercised when shopping at Denimcarts.com. There are more reliable fashion shopping sites out there.
