Scam Fighter Review of aliexpress.com

AliExpress is the retail arm of the eCommerce giant, Alibaba. It’s a subsidiary that caters for business-to-client or B2C needs of the market. In 2010, AliExpress grew to surpass Walmart in the US to become the world’s largest retail store dealer. It strictly sells Chinese products to the world and does not sell within China. Common AliExpress Scams PayPal Scam Say you have an issue with goods delivered from AliExpress. You open a dispute with the seller on the platform. They promise to refund you fully using PayPal but request you to first close the dispute. You agree to their request, having not yet received the funds. When you receive the cash, the seller waits for the 15-day buyer protection period on AliExpress to expire. The scam seller then asks for a chargeback from PayPal and claims non-delivery of goods as the reason. In this transaction, PayPal regards you as a seller who received cash and didn’t deliver the goods. The scammers get their chargeback. What happened? The seller opened a dispute against you on PayPal and got their refund! By the time you realize this, the buyer protection period has expired on AliExpress and you can’t open a dispute against them. You’ve lost your money through a clever scam. Never close a dispute at a seller’s request and never accept a PayPal refund. Let AliExpress resolve and close the dispute. Company Review

The identify of the website owner has been hidden. This may be done for a valid reason as spammers use this information to email website owners. Unfortunately is also makes identification of the owner difficult. We prefer if the website does show his true identity.

Webshop Review

We upped our review of the website as it has been given a high ranking by Tranco. Tranco ranks websites based on popularity (how many people are visiting the website every month) and listings (how many other websites link to the site because they consider it valuable).

The domain name of this website has been registered several years ago. In general, the older the website the more trustworthy it becomes. However, scammers sometimes buy existing websites and start doing their evil thing, so please make sure you check for other scammy attributes as well.

Technical Review

The website is being hosted in a country with a high level of fraud and corruption according to the International Banking Federation. The risk of doing business with these kind of countries is therefor higher.

We identified a generic platform with which companies can quickly build their own (free) website or online store. Larger companies hardly ever make use of these platforms as they do not allow customization. For smaller companies using a generic platform is slowly becoming the norm.

The company seems to support payment methods that offer a "money-back guarantee" such as Alipay, Mastercard, Paypal, and Visa. While this money-back guarantee is not 100% secure, it does allow consumers in most cases to get their money back if the product is not delivered or proves to be fake.

We identified an SSL certificate meaning that the data shared between your browser and the website is encrypted and cannot be read by others. SSL certificates are always used by legit and safe websites. Unfortunately scammers increasingly also use SSL certificates so it is no guarantee that you are visiting a reliable website.

As the influence of the internet rises, so does the prevalence of online scams. There are fraudsters making all kinds of claims to trap victims online - from fake investment opportunities to online stores - and the internet allows them to operate from any part of the world with anonymity. The ability to spot online scams is an important skill to have as the virtual world is increasingly becoming a part of every facet of our lives. The below tips will help you identify the signs which can indicate that a website could be a scam. Common Sense: Too Good To Be True When looking for goods online, a great deal can be very enticing. A Gucci bag or a new iPhone for half the price? Who wouldn’t want to grab such a deal? Scammers know this too and try to take advantage of the fact. If an online deal looks too good to be true, think twice and double-check things. The easiest way to do this is to simply check out the same product at competing websites (that you trust). If the difference in prices is huge, it might be better to double-check the rest of the website. Check Out the Social Media Links Social media is a core part of ecommerce businesses these days and consumers often expect online shops to have a social media presence. Scammers know this and often insert logos of social media sites on their websites. Scratching beneath the surface often reveals this fu

So the worst has come to pass - you realise you parted with your money too fast, and the site you used was a scam - what now? Well first of all, don’t despair!! If you think you have been scammed, the first port of call when having an issue is to simply ask for a refund. This is the first and easiest step to determine whether you are dealing with a genuine company or scammers. Sadly, getting your money back from a scammer is not as simple as just asking.  If you are indeed dealing with scammers, the procedure (and chance) of getting your money back varies depending on the payment method you used. PayPal Debit card/Credit card Bank transfer Wire transfer Google Pay Bitcoin PayPal If you used PayPal, you have a strong chance of getting your money back if you were scammed. On their website, you can file a dispute within 180 calendar days of your purchase. Conditions to file a dispute: The simplest situation is that you ordered from an online store and it has not arrived. In this case this is what PayPal states: "If your order never shows up and the seller can't provide proof of shipment or delivery, you'll get a full refund. It's that simple." The scammer has sent you a completely different item. For example, you ordered a PlayStation 4, but instead received only a Playstation controller.  The condition of the item was misrepresented on the product page. This could be the
